PADI Junior Open Water Diver Course
What is the PADI Junior Open Water Diver Course?
The PADI Junior Open Water Diver Course is an entry level diver certification that is recognised world-wide. A PADI Jnr. Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 11 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 40ft/12M. A 12 to 14-year-old Jnr. Open Water Diver is qualified to dive to 60ft/12M only when accompanied by a certified diver of legal age. Your certification automatically upgrades on your 15th birthday at which time you can apply to PADI for an adult certification card.
We offer flexible scheduling to make the most of your precious vacation time and you don't pay extra for small class sizes, one or two students is our normal class size. This way, you can be assured of our undivided attention which will soon have you diving like a professional.
Three sections
The Junior Open Water Diver Course has three sections, Knowledge Development (theory), Confined Water (pool) dives and Open Water (sea) dives. You can choose to complete the Knowledge Development (theory) by studying with the PADI Open Water Diver Manual (included in your course fee) which will take you about 16 hours to complete. Alternatively, to save your time on holiday, you can complete all of this online before you arrive in St. Lucia with PADI's new eLearning option. To make getting certified even easier, PADI now offer a Dive Computer Only option meaning that you no longer have to learn to use dive tables. This is available as a manual or on eLearning. If you choose this option, you will need to bring your own Dive Computer.
