NAUI REBREATHER DIVING

NAUI REBREATHER DIVING

Rebreather Diving

Experience the underwater environment like never before. Observe sea life closer than you ever thought possible and explore underwater attractions in intimate detail as you silently move through the underwater world. Rebreathers remain the domain of the most serious and committed divers, but as technology improves and costs come down, the use of semi-closed and closed circuit rebreathers continues to attract new participants. Rebreathers have their advantages, but they require exceptional commitment and dedication to proper training and procedure.

Rebreathers approved for training by NAUI are listed below:

  • MK 15
  • MK 16 MOD 0: Air Diluent 150fsw / HeO2 200fsw MILITARY
  • MK 16 MOD 1: Air Diluent 190fsw / HeO2 300fsw MILITARY
  • PRISM TOPAZ
  • OXILUNG (MILITARY)
  • LAR V (MILITARY)
  • VOYAGER CCR AND SCR
  • The Evolution
  • The Inspiration
  • Poseidon Mk VI Discovery
  • InnerSpace Systems Megalodon
  • Hollis Prism 2
  • JJ CCR
  • Hollis Explorer
  • Aqua lung FROG

NAUI rebreather training is available through the following NAUI programs:

Semi-Closed Circuit Rebreather (SCR) Diver

The Semi-Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver course provides you with the training and knowledge necessary to understand the benefits and risks of using a semi-closed circuit rebreather (SCR) while breathing EANx mixtures of 32% to 80% oxygen. Upon successful completion of this course, divers will be considered competent to plan and execute unit specific SCR dives up to 100 fsw (30 msw).

Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) Diver

The NAUI Closed Circuit Rebreather course provides you with the training and experience necessary to understand the hazards and minimize the risks of using a closed circuit rebreather while breathing EANx with a constant oxygen partial pressure. Upon successful completion of the NAUI Closed Circuit Rebreather course, you are qualified to plan and execute unit-specific, air-diluent, no-decompression, closed circuit rebreather dives to depths not exceeding 100 fsw (30 msw).

Closed Circuit Rebreather Mixed Gas (CCRMG) Diver

The NAUI Closed Circuit Rebreather Mixed Gas Diver course provides you with the skills and knowledge needed to minimize the risks of utilizing helium-based or trimix breathing diluent gas mixtures for dives with rebreathers and constant PO2 requiring decompression. Upon successful completion of the NAUI Closed Circuit Rebreather Mixed Gas Diver course, you are qualified to plan and execute technical, constant PO2 dives on unit-specific CCRs that require decompression and utilize helium-based or Trimix breathing gas mixtures to depths not exceeding 200 fsw (61 msw).

Extreme Exposure Closed Circuit Rebreather Mixed Gas Diver

The NAUI Extreme Exposure Closed Circuit Rebreather Mixed Gas Diver course provides you with the skills and knowledge needed to minimize the risks of utilizing helium-based or trimix breathing diluent gas mixtures for dives with rebreathers and constant PO2 requiring decompression. At least four dives below 200 fsw (61 msw) are required during training, not to exceed 300 fsw (91 msw).

Mixed Gas Blender and Oxygen Service Technician

The NAUI mixed Gas Blender and Oxygen Service Technician course provides you with the skills and knowledge needed to safely handle high pressure gases, prepare oxygen enriched air and helium-based mixes, and prepare equipment for oxygen service.
