BSAC Compressor Operator

Servicing Courses Compressor Operator

Duration:2 Days   Cost: 6,000 THB

The BSAC compressor operator course teaches how to safely run and maintain a dive shop compressor. The course covers compressor design and theory and various types of compressors found in dive shop operations. We then look at safely filling scuba tanks and running the compressor essential for any divemasters or instructors looking to work in the dive industry. On the second day we look at compressor maintenance such as gas filters, oil changes, diagnostic of compressor problems, changing engines and pipe work. We run this course as part of the dive shop operations package and ask Gas Blender students to undertake the BSAC compressor operator first so that they can safely run the compressor.

BSAC Sports Diver

Why take this course?

If you are an Ocean Diver who wants to do more, the Sports Diver course will give you the freedom to explore. Being a Sports Diver allows most people to do all the diving they want in the UK and abroad.

I couldn’t wait to start my Sports Diver training and I’ve not been disappointed. I’ve been able to extend my depth and dive times while building my experience in a range of conditions. I’m excited about where my diving can now take me!

- William Cave, Flintshire SAC

If you already have some diving experience with an entry-level qualification and want to take your underwater adventures to the next level, Sports Diver is your next step in BSAC’s Diver Training Programme.

You will broaden your experience in a variety of challenging open-water conditions, and learn essential techniques to prepare you for diving to a maximum of 35 metres.

To enrol on a Sport Diver course you must have successfully completed an Ocean Diver course (or have equivalent certification from another recognised training agency) and be aged 12 or older, but you need to be 14 or older to progress to depths greater than 20m post qualification.

I wanted to be able to dive shipwrecks in the 30m range more safely, now I am confident that I could help my buddy if they were in trouble

- Alex Ratcliffe

Your next steps – developing your skills

After completing Sport Diver training and consolidating your skills, your options for diving significantly expand.

Do you want to extend your personal diving skills and plan and lead dives for others?

Are you ready to learn how to manage groups of divers, and develop your rescue-management skills? If so, Dive Leader is the exciting next step in your development as a diver.

Also if you want to become an Open Water Instructor with BSAC you need to be a Dive Leader.

I was looking to run club dive trips and start instructing so this was the obvious next step. Dive Leader has also helped me to learn more about myself as a diver and expand my experience so that I can take part in more adventurous diving.

- Russell Blything, Wreake Valley SAC

This course is perfect for BSAC members who want to take a more active role in their club.

As a Dive Leader you become an essential team member helping to organise activities at your BSAC club.

The training also prepares you to dive to depths of up to 50 metres in a range of challenging conditions, following a series of post-qualification depth progression dives.

To enrol on a Dive Leader course you must have successfully completed a Sport Diver course (or have equivalent certification from another recognised training agency) and be aged 14 years or older.

Sports Divers aged between 12 and 14 can complete the elements of Dive Leader training that do not require diving deeper than 20m.
